DESCRIPTION:
Windows 7 users have reported that when they try to check for new updates using Windows Update, it keeps checking for updates for hours. The progress bar keeps showing progress animation which makes you think that Windows Update is doing something but even after waiting for hours, nothing happens. I recently tried to enable BitLocker on a Windows 10 PC and got an error message that I found would be extremely cryptic to anyone who isn’t a computer geek. Here was the message:

Are you having the same connection issue I was when trying to use the Cisco VPN client?

• Open Registry editor by typingregedit in Run prompt
• Browse to the Registry Key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\CVirtA

Moving Show Desktop Bar from the Right to the Left

Hi

My first post, can anyone tell me if it is possible to move the "Show Desktop" Icon in Windows 7 64Bit from the right side of the clock over to the left side close to the start Button. I really hate it way over on the right side. I can't seem to find a way to do it.

Thanks

Dr Pickle

Restore a lost feature and install XP's Backup Utility into Windows 7 and Vista

Thank You to http://blogs.techrepublic.com.com/window-on-windows/?p=1216

Because the Backup Utility is essentially a third-party utility that was integrated into the XP operating system, I discovered that installing it in Windows 7 and Vista can be done simply by copying a few files from an XP Pro system and enabling the Removable Storage Management system in 7 and Vista.

I’ll show you how to install Windows XP’s Backup Utility in Windows 7 or Vista.
